PROMOTING CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND LEARNING: Use multiple interacting influences in children’s development and learning to create environments that are healthy, respectful, supportive, and challenging for each child.

OBSERVING, DOCUMENTING, AND ASSESSING TO SUPPORT YOUNG CHILDREN AND FAMILIES: Understand that child observation, documentation and other forms of assessment are central to the practice of all education professionals. Know and use systematic observation and documentation for the IEP process.

USING DEVELOPMENTALLY EFFECTIVE APPROACHES: Know and understand a wide array of developmentally appropriate approaches and instructional strategies in the K-12 environment, including IEPs.

USING CONTENT KNOWLEDGE TO BUILD MEANINGFUL CURRICULUM: Know how to design, implement, and evaluate experiences that promote development and learning for each young child. Utilize own knowledge and other resources to design, implement, and evaluate meaningful curriculum.

BECOMING A PROFESSIONAL: Identifies and conducts themselves as members of the education profession. Adhere to and understand the Professional Standards.

EDUCATION FIELD EXPERIENCES: Field experiences and clinical practices are planned and sequenced to develop the knowledge, skills, and professional dispositions.
