In addition to utilizing your instructor’s office hours, we strongly encourage you to seize support at the MCC Writing Center. The Writing Center provides an excellent opportunity to receive help with an assignment no matter where you are in the writing process, no matter the discipline. Appointments take place on campus in the Academic Support Department, or online in 20-minute Zoom meetings. On-campus and online drop-ins are also welcome. Data shows utilizing the Writing Center improves students’ work by a full letter grade. If you find yourself struggling with writing in any form, for any discipline, visit the Writing Center.
Writing Center Professional Support
The Writing Center is comprised of writing professionals steeped in writing techniques and specialties. From assisting with the pre-writing process, to developing effective thesis statements, assisting with unity, organization, grammar and punctuation, resumes, and the revision process, the Writing Center offers all the professional insight and quality feedback you need in a welcoming environment to achieve success in your writing.
If assistance is needed, a student can schedule an appointment through TracCloud. This is found by navigating to the MyMCC page, clicking on the Schedule an Appointment link under Student Support, then selecting the Writing Center icon. Professional Writing Consultants are available to any current student and community member. Students may schedule appointments up to 24 hours in advance. Drop-in visits are also welcome.

Drop-in Professional Support
Drop-in writing professional hours are a set schedule of times when a Writing Center professional will be available to assist with one’s writing without an appointment. Check the schedule by following the link above.
Online Professional Support
If one needs remote help with writing, the Writing Center’s writing professionals can assist students via 20-minute Zoom appointments. Follow the link above to submit your writing ahead of time and book an online appointment.
