In addition to utilizing your instructor’s office hours, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of Tutoring Services. If you find yourself struggling in a course, this is an excellent resource for getting extra support.
Peer Tutoring
If assistance is needed in a specific course, a student can schedule an appointment through TracCloud. This is found by navigating to the MyMCC page, clicking on the Schedule an Appointment link under Student Support, then selecting the Tutoring icon. (https://muskegoncc.sharepoint.com/sites/MyMCCDocuments/SitePages/Student/Schedule-Appointment.aspx?env=WebView) Student tutors, recommended by instructors, are available to any current student. Students may schedule up to 2 appointments per subject per week with an MCC tutor and attend unlimited drop-in sessions.
Professional Tutoring
Professional tutors may be hired for specific content areas when peer tutors are not available.
Supplemental Instruction (SI)
Supplemental Instruction is a small group academic assistance program which has shown to help increase student performance. It is offered only in specific introductory classes. Check with Tutoring Services and your instructor for more information.
MCC Online Tutoring
Do you need help from home or work? Online Tutoring is available! When scheduling an appointment, please select "online" as your meeting type. At the time of your appointment, a Zoom link will become available on your TracCloud dashboard.
Brainfuse 24/7* Online
Purchased with College Success Grant funds, we’ve introduced Brainfuse, an online tutoring platform that offers flexible, on‑demand academic help. Students can access live tutoring beyond regular business hours, with many subjects available 24/7. Each student receives 6 hours of Brainfuse tutoring per semester, with the possibility of additional hours if more support is needed. Brainfuse also offers robust academic resources, including study guides, practice tests, and skill‑building exercises.
Drop-in Tutoring
Drop-in Tutoring is when a tutor will be available to offer support without an appointment. The schedule is available on TracCloud and updated daily.
General Support
For courses that do not have content specific tutors, Tutoring Services encourages students to meet with a general support tutor. General support tutors can help with time management, study tips, navigating Blackboard, and test taking strategies.
Basic Computer Support
Our tutors are available to assist students with essential computer skills, including using word processors to create and save documents, uploading files, navigating the internet to search for information, and more.
Becoming a Tutor
