Course Description

This is an extensive course in algebra emphasizing the notation, skills, and problem types used in pre-calculus and calculus courses. This course is intended only for students pursuing a STEM field who are not ready for a pre-calculus course. Topics include: solving equations and inequalities, intervals, compound inequalities, absolute values, graphing, linear inequalities in 2 variables, integer exponents, scientific notation, factoring, operations with rational expressions, radicals and operations, fractional exponents, radical equations, geometric applications; quadratic equations, complex numbers, completing the square, the quadratic formula, functions, inverse functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, and systems of equations with 2 or 3 unknowns.
