Course Description

Medical Assistant Clinical Lab II is a continuation of Medical Assistant Clinical Lab I and further develops the student's skills, abilities, and behaviors in the role of Clinical Medical Assistant. This course prepares the student to calculate proper dosage calculations for medication administration, perform safe medication administration, perform diagnostic tests delegated to the medical assistant by the provider (ECG, pulmonary function tests, venipuncture, etc.), and perform CLIA-waived tests commonly performed as point-of-care testing. This course allows the student to continue practicing psychomotor and affective competencies in the lab setting to prepare the student to provide safe care in the healthcare environment. This class must be taken with MA106Lec.
