Intro to Intermediate Ballet Technique

Course Description

An introductory/intermediate ballet course which focuses on basic placement concepts, transfer of weight, core strength, and the positioning of the body in space. Proper alignment will be stressed in all of the exercises at the barre and in the centre. Centre work is designed to impart traveling, turning, and jumping skills including en dehors pirouettes, traveling turns, basic petite allegro and grand allegro vocabulary. Emphasis will be placed on coordination, musicality and transitions, and on artistic expression and performance.
